Belated Birthday

Jake turned 3! (3!) the end of last month. My sweet little blue boy (so blue when he was first born), I'd hoped, before he was born, he'd be my mellow, calm, zen boy. And for the first year of his life he filled that hope. Then he discovered how to walk, and climb, and run, and well be like the boys. 1 to 2 and 2 to 2.5 were hard, not gonna lie. I usually dread age 3. And was very worried what it would be like with him. BUT about 4 months ago there was a shift in him. So subtle it just came to be part of him seamlessly. He's mellowed in temperment (but not in temper). Calm, quiet, content. There are times when I realize I haven't seen or heard from him in a while and go searching only to find him cuddle up in his bed "reading". He takes my breath away daily. I love watching each of them come into their own. He is changing my view of 3, and I'm loving it!
